The Sevastopol golf team finished in third place at the WIAA Division 3 regional at Parkway Golf Club in Lena on Tuesday. The Pioneers shot a 384, three strokes behind regional champion Lena (381) and two back of runner-up NEW Lutheran (382). Tyler Dvorak finished with a 91 to lead the Pioneers, Jacob Welsing shot a 97 while Eric Ott and Brad Stoeckel shot a round of 98. Gibraltar’s Nathan Surges fired an 85 to take medalist honors and also advances to next Tuesday’s sectional at Glacier Wood Golf Club in Iola.
Sturgeon Bay’s Brandon Forbes shot an 85 at Irish Waters Golf Course in Freedom to advance. Also, Luxemburg-Casco finished in third place and qualified for next Tuesday’s Sectional at Crystal Springs in Seymour. Jacob Wortruba led the Spartans with an 84 followed by Collin Morris (89), Parker Coppens (91), Mike Spengler (92) and Ben VanPay (92).
