A five man group from the Door County YMCA’s Underwater Hockey team won the 4-on-4 tournament in Milwaukee this past weekend. The four-on-four format was a challenging and unique style because they traditionally play six-on-six. In this game, not only were there less players in the water to cover the court, but there was also only one player available for substitution. This arrangement called for a higher level of athleticism and skill along with creating different strategy of play. The Door County Sturgeons beat Michigan State in overtime in bracket play and again in the finals. The team, led by coach/player Kendall Banks, also included players Terry Chier, Brenden Ewers, Paul Filar and David Foulds. The Underwater Hockey team meets at 6:30pm on Friday at the Door County YMCA Program Center in Sturgeon Bay and is welcoming new members of all ages.

L-R: David Foulds, Brenden Ewers, Paul Filar, Kendall Banks & Terry Chier.
