The Sturgeon Bay girls Little League softball team lost their opening game at the Central Regional Tournament in Akron, Ohio on Saturday. Columbus, Missouri beat Sturgeon Bay 12-11. Sturgeon Bay scored 8 runs in the first inning, but Missouri battled back to an 8-8 tie after 6 innings. Sturgeon Bay scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th, but Missouri answered with 4 of their own for the win. Demi Ploor led the way with 3 hits, while Rachel Miller, Lauren Kita, Hannah Abrahamson and Molly Bordeau had 2 hits each.
Sturgeon Bay lost t0 Poland, Ohio 11-0 on Sunday and will play Indiana on Monday.
