Sturgeon Bay improved to (2-1) at the Class AA Legion State Tournament in Baraboo on Sunday. The Bays took the lead on a 2-run double by Jared Lindemann in the bottom of the 2nd inning and Austin Lardinois added an RBI fielders choice. SB then added another 4 runs in the 3rd inning to open a 7-1 lead. Keith Lehmann hit a solo home run in the 5th and the Bays ended the game with three more runs in the 6th inning. Lucas Stephenson pitched all 6 innings for the win while allowing an unearned run on only four hits. Keith Lehmann had 4 hits including the tournaments first home run. David Van Dreese had 3 hits, while Lucas Stephenson and Jason and Jared Lindemann had two hits each.
Monday’s American Legion game between Sturgeon Bay and Menasha has been postponed due to rain. The game will be Tuesday (8/5) at 1:30pm on 93.9FM and on WDOR.com.
