Sturgeon Bay Finishes 6th At State Invite

The Sturgeon Bay 6th grade boys basketball team played in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament on April 13 and 14. This tournament, which was organized by The Great Northwest Basketball League, brought together 88 of the top community-based 6th grade boys basketball teams from all across the State of Wisconsin and crowned State champions in four divisions. 

*Sturgeon Bay went (4-2) in the tournament in finished in 6th place.  The Clippers beat Northwestern, Lodi, Little Chute and Ripon and lost to Xavier and Bloomer.

*Southern Door went (3-3) in the tournament and finished in 8th place.  The Eagles beat Lodi, Northwestern and Luxemburg-Casco and lost to Little Chute twice and Peshitgo once.

*Luxemburg-Casco went (4-2) in the tournament and finished in 9th place.  The Spartans beat Valders, Saint Croix Central, Gale-Ettrick-Trempeleau and Mauston and lost to Southern Door and Roncalli.

Sturgeon Bay’s Mitchell Jackson, Derik LeCaptain of Southern Door and Anthony Otradovec of Luxemburg-Casco were named to the Division 3 All-Tournament team.
