Sturgeon Bay 11’s Win State Championship

Sturgeon Bay beat Bay Port 8-5 on Tuesday to win the 11 year old Cal Ripken State Championship in Dodgeville.  Sturgeon Bay scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and never trailed.  Coach Rob Pollman says that it was an awesome experience….[audio:|titles=Rob Pollman- Awesome experience]Robby Pollman pitched into the 5th inning before turning things over to Brandon Stillman and Alex Laughlin….[audio:|titles=Rob Pollman- Robby Pollman, Brandon Stillman and Alex Laughlin]While Sturgeon Bay had 7 hits in the game, coach Pollman said that there were two clutch hits that fueled the attack on Tuesday….[audio:|titles=Rob Pollman- Andrew Carbajal and Robby Pollman]The 12 player roster includes Robby Pollman, Alex Laughlin, Andrew Carbajal, Abram Abeyta, CJ Fairchild, Brandon Stillman, Luke Steebs, Marcus Reinhard, Spencer Krause, Drew Price, Hunter Bemman and Anthony Jennerjohn.  Head Coach Rob Pollman is assisted by Steve Bemman and Pat Steebs.  Sturgeon Bay advances to the Ohio Valley Regional, July 31 – August 3,  in South Lexington, Kentucky.
