The Sturgeon Bay 12 year old Cal Ripken All-Stars have been eliminated from the State Tournament in Marinette. Sturgeon Bay beat Escanaba on Thursday Morning behind the pitching of Nick LeCaptain and the hitting of Isaiah Spetz (3 run Home Run) and Jeffrey Alberts (2 run single). Stevens Point beat Sturgeon Bay 7-4 on Thursday Afternoon. LeCaptain had three hits, Isaiah Spetz and Collin Mirkes had 2 each. Sturgeon Bay finished 2-2.
The Sturgeon Bay 11’s won their first game on Thursday, 5-1 over Bay Port. Joe Burlo was the winning pitcher with Jared VanBramer picking up the Save. Jaeger Brusky hit a Home Run, Trevor Jacobson and Hunter Ebel had two hits and VanBramer doubled. The 11’s were eliminated by DeForest, losing 6-2. Evan Hobbs doubled as part of a two hit day and Burlo also doubled. Sturgeon Bay finished 1-2 at Neenah.
