Kewaunee rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat Sturgeon Bay, 9-6, in a Packerland Conference softball game on Friday. Sturgeon Bay scored three runs in the first inning and two more in the second before the Storm started their comeback. Taylor Miller had a 2-run single in the 2nd for Kewaunee and Liz Lauscher hit an RBI triple and scored on a Rachel Dax RBI single in the 3rd inning before another Miller RBI single tied the game. The Storm took the lead for good in the 4th on a Dax RBI groundout and an Alyssa Uhlers RBI single. Ellie Olson had 3 hits for Kewaunee while Brooke Geier, Uhlers and Miller all had 2 hits. Miller pitched the first five innings for the win with Olson striking out five in the final two innings for the save. For the Clippers, Haley Benesh had three hits and 2 RBI’s, Sami Van Dreese added 2 hits and 3 RBI’s while Paige Kramer, Marissa Ehlers and Rachel Miller (RBI) all had two hits. Sturgeon Bay will play 3 games as the Green Bay East Early Bird Invitational on Saturday (10:00, Noon, 2:00).
