The Kewaunee girls basketball team is heading to the WIAA division 3 state title game Saturday, after a dominating win over Barron Friday morning 38 – 18. The Storm shut down Barron (21-6) defensively, holding the Golden Bears to only four field goals, one in each quarter. Friday’s game took an emotional turn late in the fourth quarter. Kewaunee senior Alex Kohnle, who has missed parts of the last three seasons with knee injuries, entered the game and threw an inbounds pass. Kohnle, who did not play in Kewaunee’s 2011 appearance at the Kohl Center, was not allowed to play at either end of the floor.
