Storm Dominates Second Half, Snap Vikes Win Streak

Kewaunee beat Gibraltar, 70-48, in a girls Packerland Conference basketball game in Fish Creek on Monday Night. The first half featured 13 lead changes as the Storm (12-0, 17-1) took a 33-31 lead at the break thanks to a Claire Kohnle three pointer. Kewaunee opened the second half on a 28-5 run to take control of the game. Sara Dax shook off first half foul and shared game high scoring honors with Mackenzie Tlachac with 22 points each while Katie Metzler added 12 for Kewaunee. Payton Pluff finished with 15 points to lead the Vikings (9-3, 11-5) while Karlee Kita added 10 as Gibraltar’s winning streak was snapped at 10.
