Kewaunee beat Gibraltar and moved back into sole possession of first place in the Packerland Conference after a 4-2 win at Billerbeck Field in Fish Creek on Monday. The Storm scored two unearned runs in the top of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead but the Vikings tied the second on Anthony Laughlin’s second RBI single of the game scoring Jack Brennan. Tied in the top of the 5th inning, Sam Kohnle tripled with two outs and scored on an Ethan Schlies RBI single. The Storm added to their lead thanks to a couple more Gibraltar errors and a wild pitch. Logan Brusky (7-0) struck out 8 in the win while Laughlin fired a 4-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Jack Brennan had 3 hits and scored both runs for the Vikings. Kewaunee’s win combined with Southern Door’s loss has moved the Storm a half game ahead of Eagles. Kewaunee will play Sevastopol on Tuesday.
