Luxemburg-Casco won a WIAA Regional Softball Championship for the 4th time in the last 5 years while Algoma won their 4th straight Regional Title on Thursday.
Division 2
The Spartans broke a scoreless tie with 7 runs on 7 hits in the bottom of the 4th inning on their way to an 8-1 win over Southern Door. The Spartans took the lead on an RBI sacrifice fly by Chelsea Ronsman while Renee Kinnard and Marissa Rukamp had 2-run base hits in the inning. The Spartans had 14 hits for the game- Kinnard, Rukamp and Dawn Deterville with three each and two hits for Cassi Kinnard. Winning pitcher Sara Simonar allowed only 4 hits for the Spartans (15-5). Courtney Van Hout singled and doubled to lead the Eagles (14-6). Luxemburg-Casco will play Shawano in the Sectional Semi-Finals at 4:00 Tuesday in Sturgeon Bay.
