Smith and McHugh Sign Letters of Intent

Wednesday was National Letter of Intent signing day, and two area swimmers signed their respective letters in a ceremony at the Door County YMCA in Sturgeon Bay.  Arica Smith will attend UW-Milwaukee and Conner McHugh will attend the University of Minnesota.

McHugh, the top ranked swimming recruit in Wisconsin according to CollegeSwimming.com, says that Minnesota was always at the top of his list…[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/connor1.mp3|titles=Conner McHugh- why he picked Minnesota]McHugh is likely to be competing in primarily breaststroke and individual medley events.  Conner has won multiple YMCA National Championships, and now his goal is to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro….[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/connor2.mp3|titles=Conner McHugh- 2016 ]His top event is the 100 meter breaststroke.
