Sister Bay improved to 3-0 in the Door County League with four teams a game behind them at 2-1 and Baileys Harbor picked up their first win of the season Sunday. Here is the week three recap:
Egg Harbor rallied past Kolberg, 9-8. Egg Harbor erased a six run deficit and scored four times in the ninth for the win. Nick Post and Casey Giesseman both hit home runs in the win. Cody Giesseman had three hits to lead Egg Harbor. Nick Kita picked up the win in relief. Erik Lardinois had three hits for Kolberg and Austin Dart added two. Ernie Erickson took the loss.
Sister Bay beat Washington Island, 5-4. Sister Bay snapped a 1-1 tie by scoring three runs in the third. Dusty Johnson and Stuart Larsen both had two hits for Sister Bay. Sam Forkert pitched seven innings for the win and Bubba Laughlin went the final two for the save. Mitch Schreiber hit a home run for Washington Island and Troy Jorgenson had three hits. Matt Foss took the loss.
West Jacksonport beat Institute, 6-2. The Ports led 5-0 after five to pick up the win. Griffen Cole had three hits and drove in two runs for West Jacksonport. Woody Schartner, Alec Schartner, and Jarad Lindemann all had two hits. Riley Cordier was the winning pitcher with Josh Paul taking the loss.
Baileys Harbor beat Maplewood, 2-1. Phil Clark’s walk-off single scored Alex Janisee with the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Janisee and Nolan Wagner each had two hits in the win. Daniel Case and Lucky Stephenson allowed just three hits. Case had eleven strikeouts in five innings and Stephenson picked up the win in relief. Nick Brauer took the loss for Maplewood.
