Sister Bay Stays Alive in DCL Title Chase

Sister Bay kept its title hopes alive with a 2-1 win over Maplewood in the Door County Baseball League Sunday afternoon. The game was scoreless through six innings, Sister Bay pushed a run across in the bottom of the 7th inning and added their second run in the 8th. Maplewood scored its lone run in the top of the 9th but the rally died there. Ryan Demmin(4-1) earned the win in relief of Sam Forkert who went the first 4 for Sister Bay. Kyle Ploor(1-7) took the tough luck loss for the Mets, he went the first 7.1. Tom Sawyer and Bubba Laughlin had two hits each for Sister Bay, Chad Laluzerne was the only Met with 2 hits.

Washington Island shut out Baileys Harbor 8-0. Will Henriksen(3-5) threw 5 innings of one hit ball to get the win for the Islanders. Ben Geiger had 3 hits, Ben and Alex Johnson added two hits each for Washington Island. The Island scored 5 runs in the 5th on 5 hits and 2 errors, then added 3 more in the 6th.

Kolberg topped West Jacksonport 4-1. The Braves scored 2 in the first and never trailed, adding 2 more in the 6th. Riley Cordier(6-3) pitched 8 strong innings for the win, Drew Tanck(5-6) pitched a complete game for the loss. David Van Dreese and Riley Cordier had two hits each to lead Kolberg, Griffen Cole and Drew Tanck had two hits apiece for the Ports.

Egg Harbor topped Institute Friday Night.
