Sister Bay picked up two wins in the Door County League and moved into a first place tie with West Jacksonport. sister Bay won at Institute Friday night and then beat Washington Island while West Jacksonport beat Institute Sunday. Also Sunday, Baileys Harbor beat Maplewood and Egg Harbor beat Kolberg. Here are the details:
Sister Bay won a pitchers duel at Washington Island, 2-0. Sister Bay scored a run in the sixth and seventh innings and Sam Forkert (7-1) allowed two hits in a complete game shutout. Matt Foss (6-2) was relieved by Troy Jorgenson with two outs in the sixth. Foss took the loss as he and Jorgenson only allowed three hits.
David Van Dreese had two hits including a home run as West Jacksonport beat Institute, 9-1. Woody Schartner had three hits in the win while Griffin Cole, Riley Cordier, Sawyer Johnson, Jared Lindemann and Alec Schartner all added two. The Ports had 17 hits in the win, which went to Drew Tanck (4-1). Kyle Volkmann (0-6) took the loss.
Baileys Harbor beat Maplewood, 8-3. Austin Rohe, Lucas Stephenson, Phil Clark and Aaron Larsen all had two hits in the win. Amadee Savard (2-1) went the first seven innings for the win. Colin Schubert had three hits in the loss. Tory Jandrin (1-1) was one of three pitchers used by Maplewood and he took the loss.
Egg Harbor scored twice in the sixth to snap a 1-1 tie as they beat Kolberg 9-2. Cory Fuller had three hits and scored three runs and Casey Giesseman had two hits including a two-run homer. Dave Jilot (3-3) struck out eleven in seven innings for the win. Austin Dart, Rob Ray and Alex Bailey had two hits apiece in the loss. Ernie Erickson (1-3) went the first six innings and took the loss.
Friday night:
Sister Bay beat Institute, 13-0. Matt Hecht picked up the win. Sam Forkert had three of Sister Bay’s 19 hits. Josh Paul (1-4) took the loss.
