Sister Bay Perfect At Halfway Point

Sister Bay is 7-0 at the halfway point of the 2014 Door County League season.  They have a two game lead over West Jacksonport and they are three games ahead of Institute, Kolberg and Maplewood.

Sister Bay beat Washington Island, 7-1.  Sister Bay (7-0) scored four times in the first and led 6-1 after two innings.  James Larsen had three hits and drove in three runs to lead Sister Bay.  Matt Hecht scored three times.  Wil Henricksen (3-0) went the distance for the win.  He gave up a run on five hits.  Ray McDonald had two hits to lead Washington Island (1-6).  Troy Jorgenson (1-5) took the loss.

Kolberg beat Egg Harbor, 1-0.  Kolberg (4-3) scored the games only run in the first.  Travis LeRoy reached on an error and scored on another error.  Derek Ray had two hits to lead the Braves.  Winning pitcher Joseph Omilinsky (4-2) tossed a five hit shutout.  Riley Spetz had two hits for Egg Harbor (3-4).  Spetz (0-1) went all nine and took the loss.

West Jacksonport slipped by Institute, 3-2.  Down 2-1, Tanner Biwer doubled in a pair of runs in the eighth to give West Jacksonport (5-2) the win.  Biwer (5-0) went all nine for the win.  Drew and Ryan Tanck both had two hits to lead the Ports.  Cody Giesseman had two hits including a home run for Institute (4-3).  Kyle Volkmann (3-3) took the loss.

Maplewood beat Baileys Harbor, 7-1.  Maplewood (4-3) never trailed as they scored a pair of runs in the first.  Mickey Le had three hits and drove in three runs.  Chad LaLuzerne added two hits and drove in three runs and John Price and Adam Schubert each had two hits.  Calvin Falk (3-2) went eight innings for the win.  Aaron Larsen and Sawyer Johnson each had two hits for Baileys Harbor (0-7).  Brett Anschutz (0-5) took the loss.
