Sister Bay has a one game lead over Washington Island and Egg Harbor in the Door County League with three weeks left in the regular season. Those three teams and Maplewood all won Sunday. Here is the week eleven recap:
Sister Bay beat West Jacksonport, 4-2. The Bays scored three times in the second as Matt Hecht hit a two-run homer and Dusty Johnson added an RBI single. Hecht fell a triple shy of hitting for the cycle as he collected three hits and drove in three runs. Johnson added two hits. Sam Forkert went the distance for the win. Jason Lindemann had three hits, including a home run, for the Ports. David Van Dreese, Griffin Cole, Sawyer Johnson and Drew Tanck all had two hits. Tanck took the loss.
Washington Island beat Institute, 7-1. Matt Foss had three hits and scored twice for the Islanders. Luke Geiger had a two-run double in the win, which went to Brandon Emery-Jenzen. He went the first five innings with Christian Foss pitching the final four for the save. Kyle Volkman took the loss for Institute.
Egg Harbor beat Baileys Harbor, 5-1. Eric DeJardine had three hits for the Indians, while Cody Giesseman and Corey Fuller each added two. Giesseman homered in the win. Al Byrne pitched eight innings for the win. Daniel Case took the loss for Baileys Harbor.
Maplewood beat Kolberg, 12-9. The Mets erased a two-run deficit by scoring four times in the third inning to take the lead for good. Chad LaLuzerne hit a grand slam in that third inning. Mark Villers added a two-run homer. Adam Gutschow had three hits, while LaLuzerne, tory Jandrin and Zach Marchant all had two. Kyle Ploor picked up the win. Austen Dart hit a two-run homer for the Braves. Dart and Eric Lardinois each had three hits. Ernie Erickson took the loss.
