Jason Shimon has resigned as varsity girls basketball coach at Southern Door.
Shimon led the Eagles to an overall record of 35-14 in his two seasons as head coach. The Eagles rose to among the state’s top eight teams in Division 3 in 2017-18, when they won a regional championship, advanced to the sectional finals and finished 21-5 overall. They also won their first Packerland Conference title that season in a span of 10 years.
The hiring process will start immediately to find a new varsity girls basketball coach along with a search for a new boys coach for the 2019-2020 school year according to district activities director Korey Mallien.
