The Sturgeon Bay baseball team had their season come to an end Tuesday as they lost at Denmark in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal, 4-3. Trailing 3-2, the Vikings scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to advance to the regional final. The number nine hitter was able to draw a lead-off walk to start the rally and after a passed ball, a wild pitch and a hit batter, Denmark had runners at the corners with no one out. Jared Van Bramer entered and got the next two hitters to pop out. However, a slow ground ball was bobbled allowing the tying run to score and then a fly ball was dropped allowing the winning run to score. Sturgeon Bay tied the game at two in the second and then took the lead with a run in the fourth. Van Bramer had two of the Clippers four hits and Anthony Moore scored two of the three runs. Trent Ehlers took the loss in relief of Jake Schneider. Denmark will host Luxemburg-Casco in the regional final Wednesday. The Spartans beat Valders in a regional semifinal Tuesday, 6-4.
