The Southern Door softball team will take on West De Pere in a Division 2 sectional semifinal at Shawano this afternoon. The Eagles were the top seed in their region and after a first round bye they beat Two Rivers and Luxemburg-Casco to claim a regional championship. The Phantoms was the second seed in their regional and they beat Clintonville, Shawano and Oconto Falls to win their regional title. Today’s game between Southern Door and West De Pere can be heard on 93.9 FM WDOR and online at www.wdor.com. Pregame coverage begins at 3:50. First pitch is at 4 PM.
*Due tSouthern Door’s softball team advancing to sectionals, the Southern Door Spring Athletic Banquet has been rescheduled. It will be moved from this evening to June 11th. The banquet will begin at 6:30 that evening in the Southern door High School cafeteria and continue at 7 PM in the auditorium.
The Algoma softball team will host Winnebago Lutheran in a Division 3 sectional semifinal this afternoon. The Wolves were the top seed in their region and beat Reedsville and Mishicot to claim their regional championship. Winnebago Lutheran was seeded fifth in their region and upset Oshkosh Lourdes, Lomira and Laconia to win a regional title. Algoma and Winnebago Lutheran meet at 4:30 this afternoon at Peterson Park.
