Sturgeon Bay beat Kewaunee County 11-1 in 6 innings at the Class “AA” American Legion State Tournament in Luxemburg on Friday. Trailing 1-0 in the 2nd inning, Riley Schartner launched a 3 run home run to give the Bays the lead for good and David Van Dreese pitched a four hitter for Sturgeon Bay. The Bays scored four runs in the 5th and 6th inning to put the game out of reach. Schartner finished with 4 RBI’s while Michael Larsen singled and doubled and drove in two runs while Jason and Jared Lindemann had 2 RBI’s each. Dan Dorner had 2 hits for the Lakers and Sam Kohnle doubled. Alex Mehn, Logan Brusky and Logan Joniaux all pitched for Kewaunee County. The Lakers will play Merrill in an elimination game at 2pm today while Sturgeon Bay plays defending State Champion Holmen at 8:00 on 93.9FM / wdor.com
