Saturday Legion Results

The Sturgeon Bay and Northern Door Legion baseball teams went (1-1) on Saturday.

Chiefs (at Baileys Harbor)
ND lost 6-3 in the first game before winning 4-3 in 9 innings in a doubleheader split with Freedom.

Game 1- David Omilinsky, 2 hits.  Matt Hecht, Will Hartmann, Quin Schram and Jack Brennan all pitched.

Game 2- Bubba Laughlin started with Drew Tanck getting the win in relief.  Trailing 3-1, ND tied game in 7th as Nick Kita and Jack Brennan had RBI hits.  Chiefs win in the 9th as Brennan has base hit and stolen base and scores as Tanck reaches on infield single.  ND opens Regional play on Wednesday at 8:15.

Bays (at Don Hawkins Field)
SB beat Appleton Legion 9-2 and then lost to Menasha 12-2 in 5 innings.

Post 38- SB scored 5 runs in the first inning as Riley Cordier, Jason Lindemann, Casey Giesseman and Jared Lindemann had RBI’s then added on as Austin Rohe launched a 3 run home run in the 2nd inning.  Michael Larsen had 4 hits and Jared Lindemann had 3 doubles.  Jason Lindemann, Giesseman and Rohe all added 2 hits.  Lucas Stephenson pitched 3 scoreless innings in relief of Cordier for the win.

Twins- Menasha opened a 6-0 lead before SB scored 2 runs in the top of the 4th inning.  But the Twins added 6 more in the bottom of the 5th to end the game on the 10-run rule.  Jason Lindemann and Casey Giesseman had 2 hits each.  SB will open Regional play on Saturday at Memorial Field.
