Sevastopol scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning to beat Crivitz, 6-5, in a non-conference softball game at the Sevastopol Town Park in Institute on Tuesday. The Pioneers rallied from a 3-0 deficit for their second win of the season. Sevastopol took their first lead of the game in the bottom of the 5th inning on a 2-run single from Maggie Hartman that scored Claire Brauer and Mandy Plaszkewicz but the Wolverines tied the game in the 7th on a two run, two out single from Laken Ducaine. But Jillie Jorns led off the Pioneers 7th inning with an infield single and as Brauer put down a perfect sacrifice bunt attempt, Crivitz threw the ball down the right field line allowing Jorns to score the game winner from first base. Hartman finished with 2 hits and 3 RBI’s and Plaszkewicz had 2 hits (double) and an RBI. Adeline Nelson struck out 8 batters in a complete game effort for the Pioneers.
