Northern Door won the “A” Legion regional tournament with a 10-0 win over Omro in the championship game at the Sevastopol Town Park in Institute on Sunday. Matt Hecht, who no hit Omro on Friday, dominated them again with a 4-hitter. The Chiefs scored 4 runs in the top of the first to take control, then added runs in the 2nd and 6th innings when Cody Giesseman and Nick Kita each hit 2-run home runs. Northern Door ended the game on the 10 run rule when Austin Gulley hit a 2 run single in the 6th inning.
Omro forced the championship game when they beat the Chiefs 10-6 on Sunday afternoon. Nick Kita hit a 2 run home run in the loss for Northern Door.
The Chiefs advance to the “A” State Tournament for the 5th year in a row. Their first game will be against Waupun at 12:30 Wednesday. The double elimination tournament will be played in Bruce.
