No Undefeated Teams Left In DCL

The lone Door County League team without a loss suffered their first on Sunday as Egg Harbor lost to Kolberg.  Those two teams and Sister Bay and West Jacksonport are all 4-1 after five weeks.  Here’s is Sunday’s DCL roundup:

Kolberg beat Egg Harbor, 6-4.  The Braves rallied from a three run deficit by scoring five runs in the seventh.  Riley Cordier (2-1) pitched the first seven innings for the win and David Van Dreese got out of jams in the eighth and ninth for the save.  Cordier, Van Dreese, Eric Lardinois and Austin Rohe all had two hits for Kolberg (4-1).  Eric DeJardine had two hits for Egg Harbor (4-1).

West Jacksonport beat Institute, 9-1.  Drew Tanck (3-1) pitched the first seven innings for the win.  Alec Schartner had two hits (2 runs, 2 RBI) to lead West Jacksonport (4-1).  Kyle Volkmann, Quin Schram and Zach Christianson each had two hits for Institute (2-3).  Volkmann (1-3) went the first six and took the loss.

Sister Bay beat Washington Island, 6-0.  Winning pitcher Sam Forkert (1-0) tossed a four hit shutout with 11 strikeouts.  Tucker Emerson had three hits and Dusty Johnson (2 RBI) and Ryan Demmin each added two for Sister Bay (4-1).  Ben Geiger had two hits for Washington Island (0-5).  Will Henricksen (0-2) took the loss.

On AM 910 WDOR and wdor.com, Maplewood beat Baileys Harbor, 15-2.  Maplewood (2-3) took the lead for good in the fourth on Kordell Draves three-run home run.  Draves had three hits as did Al Karas and Chad Laluzerne.  Laluzerne reached base six times.  He was the winning pitcher as well.  Laluzerne (1-0) went the first five for the victory.  Lucas Stephenson (0-1) took the loss for Baileys Harbor (0-5).
