Tim Newton will have one less title on his answering machine at Sevastopol Schools. He will continue as Junior High math teacher and the district’s Athletic Director but will no longer be the head coach of the Pioneers softball team. In a recent conversation, Newton said it has been something he’s been thinking about for a while and gave his reasons for his resignation….[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/tim1.mp3|titles=Tim Newton- Family time]Newton was an assistant to Heather Fellner-Spetz on the 2006 team that lost in the State semi-finals to Lancaster and the 2007 team that won the WIAA Division 3 State Title over Arcadia in 2007. Newton and the Pioneers then made history by becoming the first school to win consecutive titles with different coaches by beating La Crosse Aquinas for the 2008 State Championship.
