Mets & Bays Improve to 2-0 in DCL

After two weeks of play in the Door County Baseball League, only two teams remain undefeated. Sister Bay & Maplewood both improved to 2-0.

At Sister Bay, the Bays held on the beat Kolberg 9-6. Spencer Krause, Tom Sawyer, & Griffin Cole hit back to back to back home runs in the 7th inning, Sawyer, Sawyer Johnson, & Casey Weddig all had two hits each in the win, which went to Sam Forkert. Trevor Reinhardt homered & drove in 3 as part of a two hit game for the Braves.

Maplewood beat Washington Island 2-1. Zach Marchant homered & Adam Gutschow had an RBI single for the Mets, and Tory JAndrin picked up the win. Troy Jorgenson led the Island with 3 hits.

Egg Harbor handled West Jacksonport 8-1. Joe Sawyer threw a complete game giving up just one run on six hits. Sawyer also had three hits and three RBI. Max Bordeau & Derek Niedzwiecki had two hits each for the Ports.

Baileys Harbor beat Institute 10-4. The A’s pulled away from a 2-2 tie in the 3rd inning scoring two in that frame & adding one more in the 4th, 3 in the 6th, & single runs in the 7th & 9th innings. River Pawelski had three hits & drove in two runs, Chris Lodl added 2 hits, and winning pitcher Brett Anschutz drove in three. Robbie Pollman & Jaeger Brusky each had two hits to lead the Cubs.
