Sturgeon Bay’s Matt Hanson finished 8th out of 1,300 competitors at the World’s Tough Mudder competition in Englishtown, New Jersey on November 17 and 18. Hanson described the event as a “24 hour extreme obstacle course” that features 10 mile loops with 32 obstacles in each loop. The website www.toughmudder.com says that their courses are designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. Hanson, a 2006 Sturgeon Bay graduate, is currently in the Education program at UW-Oshkosh.
