Marathon recovered from a three point halftime deficit with a strong second half on their way to a 51-40 win over Algoma in a girls WIAA Division 4 sectional final at Waupaca on Saturday afternoon. The Red Raiders (23-3) outscored Algoma 21-7 in the first 10 minutes of the second half after the Wolves (23-3) had a seven point lead early in the first half. Morgan Rachu finished with 18 points for Marathon while Anna Dier led Algoma with 16. It’s the second consecutive year the Marathon has beaten Algoma for the sectional championship.
