Maplewood Upsets Washington Island

Maplewood rallied to win at Washington Island while Sister Bay, Egg Harbor and Baileys Harbor all picked up Door County League wins Sunday.  Here is the week nine recap:

Maplewood beat Washington Island, 8-3.  The Mets scored twice in the fifth to tie the game at three and then scored five times in the eighth for the win.  Tory Jandrin had four hits, including a triple and a double.  Chad LaLuzerne and Kyle Ploor each added two hits.  Nick Brauer went the distance for the win.  Ben Geiger, Ben Johnson and Ray McDonald all had two hits for the Islanders.  Christian Foss took the loss.

Sister Bay beat Kolberg, 4-2.  The Bays scored two runs in the first and never trailed.  James Larsen had two hits and Sam Forkert had a first inning double.  Forkert went the first eight for the win and Matt Hecht pitched the ninth for the save.  Eric Lardinois had two of the Braves five hits and Ernie Erickson took the loss for Kolberg.

Egg Harbor beat West Jacksonport, 6-5.  The Indians won the game on Riley Spetz’s single in the 12th inning.  Spetz finished with six hits, including two doubles.  Anthony Moore, Nick Posh and Nick Kita all had two hits.  Kita picked up the win in relief.  Drew Tanck had three hits for the Ports while Jared Lindemann and David Van Dreese both had two.  Van Dreese took the loss.

Baileys Harbor beat Institute, 17-4.  The A’s scored seven runs in the first.  Austin Rohe had four hits including a home run.  He drove in six.  Nolan Wagner, Brett Kinnard and Lucky Stephenson all had three hits.  Daniel Case went the first six innings for the win.  Eric Pecard took the loss.
