Kewaunee County beat Ahnapee, 5-4, in an American Legion baseball game in Luxemburg on Sunday Night. The Trailblazers scored 3 runs in the first inning but the Lakers scored 2 in the fourth and 3 more in the 6th for the win. Jake Thyes pitched 3.1 innings of relief for the win with Logan Brusky getting the final two outs for the save. Austin Tlachac had 2 hits and a pair of RBI’s and scored the lead run for the Lakers. Thyes finished with 3 hits and an RBI and Devin Hallet also drove in a run. For the Trailblazers, Nick LeCaptain had two hits, Mitchel Neubauer smacked a 2-run double with Trevor Hawkey and Austin Lardinois also driving in a run. Ahnapee will play Mishicot in their home opener tonight at Memorial Field.
Senior Babe Ruth
The Sturgeon Bay Sr Babe Ruth Bays won their first game, 13-0, over Elite Group in Green Bay. The Bays scored six runs in the first inning. Drew Tanck pitched the first three innings and had four hits. Jared Pfleiger, Riley Cordier, Jonas Lindemann and Will Hartman had two hits each in the win. Lucas Stenzel walked three times.
