The season came to an end for the Gibraltar baseball team Tuesday morning as the Vikings fell to Laconia 6 – 5 in a division 3 sectional semi-final. Laconia scored 5 runs in the top of the second, Gibraltar plated 3 runs in the 5th inning to narrow the gap. Laconia was able to scratch an insurance run across in the top of the 7th inning and that proved to be the difference as Gibraltar scored twice in the bottom of the 7th and had the tying run at third base when the final out was recorded. Bubba Laughlin went the distance on the mound for Gibraltar and was 2 for 4 at the plate, Casey Weddig was also 2 for 4 for Gibraltar. The Vikings left 8 runners on base in the ball game and out hit Laconia 7-6.
