Josh Kramer of Kaukauna has won the 37th annual Kewaunee/Door County Salmon Tournament. His 36.70 pound chinook caught on Tuesday, July 23rd off of Baileys Harbor claims the top prize of $10,000 cash. It’s the biggest fish to hit the tourney scales in the last 20 years and the fourth heaviest winner in K/D history. Kramer with the details of their winning catch, which happened to be their only fish of the night….
Gary Welch of Sturgeon Bay finishes in second place with a 34.27 pound salmon and wins $6,000 in cash while third place and $4,000 goes to Keith “Buck ” Felhofer (Sturgeon Bay) and his 33.59 pound chinook. It was the fifth straight year of a 30 pound plus winner, there were 13 30 pounders registered, 148 that topped 25 pounds and nearly 500 larger than 20 pounds. The tournament paid down to 100th place, or 25.88 pounds. The 38th annual K/D Salmon Tournament is scheduled for July 17-25, 2020.
