The Kewaunee girls basketball team beat Algoma 48-36 on Friday night, tying the Wolves for the Packerland Conference lead with three games to play. The Storm (10-1, 14-1) took the lead for good on Jill Kleiman’s 3 pointer midway through the second quarter. The Wolves (10-1, 15-2) were within 3 points when Kewaunee ended the 3rd quarter on an 8-0 run. Alex Richard led Kewaunee with 13 points while Kelsey Stangel (12) and Kleiman (10) were also in double figures. Algoma was led by Taylor Schmidt’s 15 points and McKenzie Mueller added 10 points.
