The Kewaunee Door County salmon tournament is officially over with Ryan Jorgenson of Washington Island announced as the winner. With over 3,800 tickets sold, the tournament had it’s largest payout ever, more than $80,000 in cash and prizes – with the top 10 accounting for $50,000 in cash. Jorgenson caught his winning fish on the first Saturday of the tournament, a 31.65 pound salmon that ending up being the only 30 plus pound chinook officially in the tournament….
Finishing in second place is Krista Thuer of Mount Pleasant, Illinois with a 29.74 pound salmon weighed at Washington Island and Cathy Lohrey of Algoma is third with a 28.74 pounder weighed in Algoma.
