Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol’s Jeremy Jorns won the 182 pound weight class at the WIAA Division 2 regional at Valders on Saturday. Jorns (41-4) advanced with a 9-1 decision over Ryan Polomis of Denmark in the championship round. Luxemburg-Casco had 9 wrestlers advance, including regional champions Lucas Joniaux (36-6) Bryce Bosman (40-2) Devan Vandenbush (39-5) Reece Worachek (33-11) Jacob Zellner (31-12) and Nate Lloyd (36-5). Austin Leroy (34-9) Colton Worachek (36-9) and Nathan Ronsman (35-8) finished second and also advance to individual sectionals at Oconto Falls on Saturday. The Spartans won the team title and will compete against the Irish at Freedom on Tuesday. Lakeland and Ripon meet in the other semi-final.
Kewaunee won the WIAA Division 3 regional they hosted on Saturday. The Storm had 8 sectional qualifiers in including regional champions Jack Severin (40-3) Cam Hanrahan (39-4) Jesse Steinhorst (39-4) Travis Reinke (34-9) and Paul Wery (25-11). Kyle Steinhorst (27-15) Dylan Steinhorst (25-19) and Cam Konop (36-8) finished second for Kewaunee. Southern Door had 4 wrestlers qualify for individual sectionals at Dodgeland on Saturday as Kyle Conard (26-12) Griffin Slezewski (30-10) Grant Englebert (20-10) and Jared Conard (6-17) all advanced. Kewaunee will take on Random Lake at the team sectionals at Random Lake on Tuesday. Princeton and Kenosha Christian Life meet in the other semi-final.
