Johnson & Johnson Lead Vikings

Gibraltar beat Sturgeon Bay, 2-1, in a Packerland Conference baseball game at Memorial Field on Monday Night.  The Vikings (3-0) took the lead for good in the top of the 5th inning on a Ben Johnson RBI single that scored Connor Brennan and then held off a Clippers rally in the bottom of the sixth inning for the win.  Sturgeon Bay had runners on second and third with no outs but Bubba Laughlin pitched out of trouble with the help of Alex Johnson’s long throw from deep in the hole at shortstop to keep the Vikings undefeated in league play.  Ben Johnson had two hits for Gibraltar and Casey Weddig had an RBI groundout.  Jeffrey Alberts went the distance for the Clippers while Ryan Jackson had an RBI single and Austin Lardinois and Anthony Moore doubled.
