Injury Bug Bites Wolves Again

For the second year in a row, the Algoma girls basketball team has lost a starter to injury.  Junior forward Kennedy Blahnik suffered a PCL injury in the January 4th game against Gibraltar and is expected to miss the next 6-8 weeks.  Coach Mark Zastrow on how the injury happened…[audio:|titles=Mark Zastow- Kennedy Blahnik injured.]
Blahnik is averaging 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game.  Coach Zastrow says that because she contributes in so many ways, it will be tough to replace Blahnik…[audio:|titles=Mark Zastow- Blahnik does alot]
Zastrow said that Kathy Bluett has moved into the starting lineup and that freshman Anna Dier and Baleigh Delorit are expected to see additional minutes.  The Wolves are currently (10-1) are ranked #1 in the lastest Division 4 coaches poll.
