With the opening of Wisconsin’s 9-day gun deer season set for Saturday November 19th, hunters are reminded of the Hunt for the Hungry program in Northeast Wisconsin. Lee Dudek says the program got its start back in 1994….

In the past 17 years hunters have donated 16,360 deer to the program, including 530 last year. Dudek says that deer donated in Door County will help out local food pantries….

Dudek added that They’s Venison Processing in Casco is the dropoff location in Kewaunee County. Dudek mentioned another way for hunters to donate to the program….
