Gorz Leads Algoma Past Sevastopol

The Algoma baseball team picked up their second win of the season as they beat Sevastopol in a Packerland Conference baseball game Thursday, 16-6 in five innings. After falling behind 1-0, the Wolves used their speed and took advantage of some miscues by the Pioneers to answer with five runs in the first and three more in the second.  After Sevastopol scored four runs in the fifth to cut the deficit to 11-6, Algoma answered with five in the bottom of the inning to end the game.  Andrew Gorz went all five innings for the win.  He led Algoma (2-2 Packerland / 2-4 overall) with four singles, four stolen bases and three runs scored.  Austen Dart was 3-for-3 with a double and four runs scored.  Will Hartman had two hits and Joey Plaszkiewicz added a double for Sevastopol (1-2 / 1-2).
