Fourth Quarter Free Throws Help Wolves Past Vikings

Algoma beat Gibraltar 42-40 to open the boys Packerland Conference schedule.  An Eli Erickson three pointer gave the Vikings the lead with 2 minutes to play but the Wolves regained the lead :20 seconds later and scored five straight points for a 42-38 lead.  Chris Anderson’s offensive rebound and basket made the score 42-40 with :05 seconds to play and after Algoma missed a pair of free throws Gibraltar had one last chance to tie but missed and the Wolves escaped with the win.  Alex Dellis and Andrew Gorz scored 11 points each to lead Algoma while Brandon LeClair scored 9 points to lead the Vikings.  Algoma outscored Gibraltar 11-0 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.
