Four Sectional Champs Highlight Area State Qualifiers

The WIAA Track and Field Sectionals were Friday and there were four Sectional Champions from Door and Kewaunee Counties.  Southern Door’s Mason LeMere, Chris Anderson from Gibraltar and Jacob and Matthew Wahlers of Algoma all won individual events.  The top four finishers in each event qualified for the State Meet next weekend in La Crosse.  The WIAA is expected to announce the extra qualifying standards today.  Algoma qualified in nine events for State as their girls team finished 3rd and the boys 4th.

Demi Ploor- Pole Vault- 2nd

3200 Relay- Bruno, Cory Carlson, Dominic DiCarlo, Minahan- 3rd

Southern Door

Sonny Soquet- Triple Jump- 3rd
Lily Samuels- Pole Vault (extra qualifier)

Gibraltar
Chris Anderson- Shot Put (51’10)

Kewaunee
Abby Van Goethem- Triple Jump- 3rd; 100- 4th; 300 Hurdles- 4th
Noah Kleiman- 300 Hurdles- 4th

Luxemburg-Casco
Dylan McGuire- 400- 2nd
