The Door County League Playoffs opened yesterday and both Egg Harbor and Sister Bay advanced.
Egg Harbor beat West Jacksonport, 6-5. Egg Harbor scored five runs over the first four innings and held on for the win. Riley Spetz had three hits while Jake Junion and Jason Fuller each added two. Matt Ash drove in three runs in the win. Dave Jilot pitched the first seven innings for the win while Nick Kita got the last six outs for the save. Zack Defere had two hits in the loss and Woody Schartner scored three runs. Tanner Biwer started and gave up two runs in the first and was relieved by Schartner. Biwer took the loss.
Sister Bay beat Kolberg, 1-0. Winning pitcher Ryan Demmin took a no-hitter into the ninth. After giving up a hit, Demmin worked out of a jam for the win. He had 13 strikeouts. Sister Bay scored their lone run in the fifth. Matt Hecht reached on an error and scored on a throwing error as he stole third base. Dusty Johnson doubled for Sister Bay.
