Egg Harbor and Sister Bay are tied at the top of the Door County Baseball League Standings after two weeks of play.
The Bays scored 2 runs in the first and 6 more in the 4th inning and never looked back, beating Institute 10-2. Stewart Larsen drove in 3 runs on a hit, a sacrifice fly and two walks. Dusty Johnson was on base 4 times and scored 3 runs. Chase Lindem pitched a complete game for the win, striking out 8. Institute was led by Josh Paul who had two hits.
At Egg Harbor, the Indians scored 5 in the second on their way to a 8 to 3 win over Maplewood. Jeffrey Alberts pitched the first 5 innings for the win, Jared Van Bramer and Nick Kita finished for Egg Harbor. Cody Giesseman had 3 hits including a solo homerun in the 6th inning, Nick Kita had 3 hits, Eric Dejardine & Casey Giesseman added 2 hits each. Nick Brauer took the loss for the Mets.
On Washington Island, Troy Jorgenson threw a complete game 5 hit shutout to lead the Islanders to a 5 to 0 victory over West Jacksonport. Jorgenson also had a good day at the plate with 3 hits, Matt Foss had 3 hits, including a solo homerun, and drove in 4 of the Islanders 5 runs. Drew Tanck went the first 7 innings for the Ports and earned the loss.
Kolberg held off a late charge from Baileys Harbor to knock off the A’s 7-5. The game was tied at 1 in the 5th inning when Kolberg rallied for 5 runs, and added another in the 6th. Baileys Harbor scored 4 times in the 8th inning and had two runners on in the 9th when Kolberg closed it out. Mitchel Neubauer struck out 11 in the win. Kolberg was led by Austin Dart with 3 hits, and Derek Ray with 2. Nolan Wagner, Austin Rohe, and Lucky Stevenson all had 2 hits for Baileys Harbor.
