Top seeded Egg Harbor slipped by fourth seeded West Jacksonport Sunday, 6-5 in the opening round of the Door County League Playoffs. The Indians snapped a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the sixth when Joe Sawyer scored on a Riley Spetz single. Brian Crook and Tom Schmidt both homered and had two hits for Egg Harbor. Spetz went the first seven for the win and Crook pitched two scoreless innings for the save. Woody Schartner had three hits including a two-run homer for the Ports. Schartner took the loss.
Third seeded Kolberg won at second seeded Sister Bay, 14-9. The Braves scored three times in the first and never trailed. Chris Wery had a big day at the plate for Kolberg. He was 4-for-5 with two homers. Wery drove in five runs and scored three times. Derek Raye also homered for Kolberg. Jeff Sperber pitched into the seventh for the win. James Larsen and Justin Hartel each had three hits for Sister Bay and Stuart Larsen homered. Wil Henricksen took the loss.
