Southern Door took over sole possession of first place in the Packerland Conference softball standings after a 6-5 win over Oconto on Monday. The Eagles scored single runs in the first two innings on Jackie Atkins RBI singles and added an unearned run in the third for a 3-1 lead. The Blue Devils (5-2) scored their first run on a Maggie Sohrweide RBI single and took the lead in the top of the 6th when Ellen Sohrweide blasted a grand slam for a 5-3 lead. The Eagles (6-1) made it 5-4 after a bases loaded walk by Lexi Wery in the bottom of the 6th inning setting the stage for the 7th inning dramatics. Kylie Neinas singled to open the inning and after an error and a base hit from Nicole Norton, the Eagles had the bases loaded with nobody out. Southern Door tied the game on a bases loaded walk from Melanie Watters and won it when Grace LeGrave singled home Kendra Dantoin. LeGrave gets the win in relief of Wery while LeGrave had 3 hits and Atkins, Wery, Norton and Tehya Bertrand all had two hits. Kalista Susa and Ellen Sohrweide had 3 hits for Oconto.
