The Southern Door girls basketball team clinched the Packerland Conference championship with a 43-36 win over Algoma on Monday Night. The Eagles (14-1, 17-4) opened the game on a 11-1 run and held the Wolves without a field goal for the first 5:41 of the game. Southern Door had a 38-28 lead in the second half but Algoma closed to within 40-36 with a 1:35 remaining before the Eagles put the game away at the free throw line. Teyha Bertrand scored 15 points to lead Southern Door and Gabby Atkins added 13. The Wolves (9-6, 10-9) hit six three pointers and were led by Makayla Guilette’s 10 points.
