The Southern Door boys basketball team has started the season by outscoring their first two opponents by a combined 89 points. That’s after the Eagles (2-0) beat Mishicot (0-2) Thursday night in a non-conference contest, 65-26. Southern Door broke open a seven point game by outscoring Mishicot, 39-7 in the second half. The Eagles limited the Indians to just one made field goal in the third and fourth quarters combined. Southern Door had another night of balanced scoring. After all ten Eagles who played scored in the season-opener Tuesday night, nine of ten managed to find their way into the scoring column Thursday. Southern Door had two players score in double figures Thursday night. Austin Rohe had 16 points while Mitchell Gerend added 12. The Eagles will open Packerland Conference play Tuesday night at Oconto.
Non-conference boys basketball Thursday:
Algoma beat Reedsville, 58-55. The Wolves will open Packerland Conference play Tuesday night when they host Gibraltar. That game will be heard on 93.9 FM WDOR and wdor.com.
