Eagles edge Clippers in OT

The Southern Door girls basketball team won their first conference game of the season with a 54-50 overtime win at Sturgeon Bay on Thursday Night.  The Clippers scored the last 5 points of regulation to force the extra session when Linnea Schmelzer hit a three pointer and Bailey Zak swished two free throws with 28 seconds to play.  But the Eagles scored first in overtime on a Cheyenne McFarlin driving layup to take the lead for good.  Amy Englebert led Southern Door (1-2, 2-3) with 12 points, Cora Baudhuin added 10 while McFarlin and Rachel Andres had 9 each.  Schmelzer finished with a game high 13 for Sturgeon Bay (1-2, 1-4) Zak added 12 and Natalie Rose 10.
